Cracker Soup
Place a dozen crackers in a bowl, grate a little nutmeg over them, add 1 teaspoonful of butter and 1 tablespoonful of granulated sugar. Pour boiling water in to the bowl enough to cover the crackers; cover with a napkin or some used aluminum foil and let steam a few minutes. It should look like a giant marsh mellow at this point. Let it stand for a half an hour. Again pour boiling water over it. Enough to cover it and just a little more. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot. Rest assured this is not a dish you see served at one of those fancy places like a country club or a hotel in las vegas
